What is Swift Start? |

Swift Start is a desktop favorites manager that allows you to manage your favorites to websites, windows folder(s) and file(s) |
How do I get started?Install Swift Start. Then launch the program. A browser window will open. You will be greeted with a welcome screen. Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be shown a dialog to select a favorites file to save all your favorites. Select a file on your PC and click OK on confirmation dialog. After this step you can click on the Swift start icon on the desktop to use the software. The swift start will open a browser window containing your collection of tags and favorites. For your convenience 51 favorites are already included and you can access them by clicking on the tag 'builtinfavorites' |
How can I add a favorites?Open the website that contains your favorite. Select any hyperlink on the website, or banner or button. Then drag and drop this to the globe window. The add favorites screen will be shown. Enter the details and save. To add a Windows folder or file as favorite. Open Windows explorer and select the folder/file. Then drag and drop this to the globe window. The add favorites screen will be shown. Enter the details and save. |
What is the globe window for?The globe window is a drop target. You basically drag an hyperlink from the browser or windows folder or file and drop it on the globe. It shows the Add favorites screen. |
How can I edit a favorite?Double click on the Swift Start icon in the tray notification area(bottom right area next to the clock). This will open up the Swift Start application in a browser window. Click on the 'Edit Favorites' hyperlink in the menu. On the next page that is shown, you will be able to edit or delete a Favorite and edit a Tag. |
I have opened Swift Start. Why do I see a blank screen? Where are the built in favorites?When you open Swift Start all the favorites that have been tagged '[default]' are shown by default. To avoid showing all the built in favorites on your default page, the built in favorites are tagged 'builtinfavorites'. To view the builtin favorites click on the 'builtinfavorites' tag |
